Antioch International Ministry - English Church and Outreach in Busan

Welcome to AIM Church, Busan

Happy New Year ! 2012. Live in Christ, for Christ and make your resolutions include service for the LORD

Welcome to the home of Christians from all over the world!

Living far away from home can be tough, especially in a place where the sights and language are so different. Antioch International Ministry is an English-speaking, international church, where people from all over the world have found a “home” away from home.  Each of us, in a different way, has found a community of Christian friends that is global in breadth.

We warmly invite you to visit Antioch International Ministry for Sunday service, bible studies, prayer meetings and activities. We are from all over the world, and so different, but you will also find that we are so close to one another. Come and join with us, and enjoy God's work that is happening among us.

Antioch International Ministry (AIM) is an English speaking (and International) church here in Busan, Korea that has been gathering since 1994. We are a ministry of Sooyoungro Presbyterian Church, the largest church in Busan, and currently we have about 230-50 Sunday worshippers with about 70-80 non-Korean members.
We'd like to invite anyone who wants to worship with us in English to join us at 10:50AM. We're in B2 of the ELLEV building.
We're named after Antioch, the city of the first church called “Christians” who sent missionaries into the world. AIM is made up of many nationalities. It is our goal to equip as many people as possible to know the faith and to share it, so that when they return to their home countries, or if they go elsewhere, they will take the Good News with them.

God bless!

God's Timing

"God's Timing" is a group based on Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 which states that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. God makes everything beautiful in its time. That means that over time God will change us to mature and grow to know him and love him and his people. We also will become beautiful people under his watchful eyes.
Ecclesiastes goes on to say there is nothing better for people than to be happy, do good and find satisfaction in our work while they live - this is a gift from God. We are made up of a diverse crowd of married couples, middle aged people and a few younger people hanging around. We believe community is important and we love hanging out and eating together. Come on out and join us as God works His timing out in our lives.

Leader: Soonohk

Meet on the 11th floor in room 1106

Ambassadors

Our group is composed of loving brothers and sisters primarily from the Philippines and Africa, but it is not exclusive to any nationality. We are all united as ambassadors of God's Kingdom with the common goal of living the Kingdom culture and expanding it by encouraging each other and reaching out to others in Christ's love. Though our meetings are held in English, we also have Tagalog and French speaking leaders. Come on over and get to know us!

Leaders: Okorie, Kelvin

Meet in Glassroom A on the 2nd floor, the cafe

M.I.T

M.I.T. stands for Monarch butterflies In Training. Monarch butterflies are great and beautiful creations, but not until there is a transformation of the caterpillar to the chrysalis and then to the butterfly itself. We are that great and beautiful creation, not because of ourselves but only after the transformation that the Lord does in our lives.
We are a unique collection of people who include singles, married couples, and empty nesters. We have an international bent of American, Iranian, Filipino, South African, and Koreans.
Our goal is to create an atmosphere where people in the group can connect with one another and to share the burdens and joys of the week. We are a community group that will hold one another up in prayer. The leaders of the group want to provide an opportunity for people to grow in their knowledge and love of the Lord, to be in relationship with Him and each one another. We hope to have some social get togethers to build the relationships amongst the members outside of the Sunday time frame lives.
We are all at different places and paths on the road to Christian understanding and maturity, that is ok, we can learn from one another and with one another. If you are interested in connecting to a group that is wanting to get to know you and help with the daily life come join with us. We will fly away together.

God's Children

Our group focus is simply on growing closer to Christ. We want to find truth in the Bible, and live that truth out in our lives. Outside of group we build fellowship through having fun together: beaching, movie watching, coffee shops frequenting, sports playing, hiking, etc.
We tend to be one of the younger groups, but we accept everyone. We would love to have you join us!

Theology

Antioch International Ministry is a body of people centered on Christ and bringing glory to His name here in Busan and to the ends of the world. To that end we affirm the Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, each fully God and yet unique in personality and function. As to the Son, Jesus, we affirm both His Divinity and ultimate supremacy as Creator of the world, and his Humanity as one just like us experiencing every pain and toil we have and yet without sin. He lived as a man 2000 years ago and presently resides as our advocate before God the Father.
We affirm the fallen state of humanity and our absolute need for a Savior. All people are full of sin and thus separated from God. Only as we come to Jesus and receive His free gift of salvation can we find forgiveness for our sin and to regain our original state of being as creations that perfectly image our Creator, thus entering into relationship with Him. We affirm the importance of the local church. While God meets each person individually He does so primarily through the local church which He has endowed with His power. Therefore we believe that it is the responsibility of all Christians to be regularly involved in a church. Only within the church is it possible to truly be a Christian.

Denomination
Antioch International Ministry is affiliated with Sooyoungro Church, (website) which is part of the Presbyterian denomination.
Mission

AIM has missions local and abroad. AIM gives financial support to some missionaries, particularly those who were members of AIM and have gone out from this church to spread the Good News and work among communities in Christian life. AIM prays for missionaries and our church has an annual mission trip which is highly beneficial to spiritual growth.

Service time and Location

Our Evangelical worship service is held Sunday mornings from 10:50am-12:10pm. We have praise and worship in the basement (B2) of the ELLEV building in Suyeong. Then after coffee and muffin/donut fellowship time the Community Groups meet. The Newcomers Team assists and advises visitors and newcomers.

Directions to AIM / ELLEV

By Subway. AIM is located in the heart of Busan near the Suyeong Rotary. Take the subway to Suyeong Station (Line 2. Subway stop #208). Use exit 3 and walk straight ahead 40 meters. Then take your first left at Paris Baguette. Then take your next right across from Kuchenheim Bakery just before entering the traditional market. 50 meters down the street on your right next to the Post Office is our church, located in the ELLEV building. (Korean: 엘레브).

By Bus. A number of buses pass through Suyeong Rotary. They are route numbers: 5, 36, 39, 40, 63, 139, 141, 155, 210. Your best stop would be nearest Suyeong Station Exit 3, across from Paris Baguette on the corner. Travelling West from Haeundae or BEXCO would drop you at that bus stop. Coming from Gwangalli or Gyeongseongdae you would get off at the stop on the opposite side of the road near Baskin Robbins 31 and use the crossing. Follow the route as directed for By Subway, above.

By Car. Vehicle access to ELLEV, the building our church meets in, is possible if you approach the Suyeong IC from the East. As you approach the IC you will come to an intersection with a GS gas station on your right. Immediately after the station take the "Y" off the main road on your right. ELLEV is 50 meters down the road on your left. ELLEV is next to Suyeong Post Office and just down from the Paldo Market.

Elevator parking for small cars is available in the ELLEV basement. Parking for larger vehicles like SUVs is available in an adjacent parking tower right beside the ELLEV building. All parking is free of charge. Please take notice of vehicle size restrictions as you can break the parking elevator and inconvenience others.
